PROCEM - electromagnetic shielding

PROCEM™ is a conductive multi-layer metal coating intended for the electromagnetic shielding of polymers and composite materials.

The generalisation of the use of plastic and composite materials for the production of components for electrical, electronic, etc. use poses the problem of bringing them into conformity with the standards relating to ElectroMagnetic Compatibility (EMC). The production of electrically conductive coatings is one of the methods commonly used to perform the shielding function, without fundamentally calling into question the design of devices. With the EMC function are also often associated complementary constraints like corrosion performance, solderability, etc.

PROCEM™, a PVD coating, makes it possible to reconcile these various essentials while at the same time providing other advantages related to the implementation process: dimensional precision, quality of any gaps, negligible effect on the mass of objects, etc.

The layers deposited are generally of a thickness from 1 to 5µm adaptable to suit requirements.
The deposition temperatures generally vary according to substrate.

PROCEM™ is used for electromagnetic shielding in telecoms, aeronautics and weapons, as well as for its high conductivity in electrical connectors and components. It is also a good replacement solution for hard chromium.
This coating can be applied to a large number of metals and alloys containing little or no zinc, magnesium or lead, to glass and plastic.
