Other coatings

Vacuum deposition and particularly Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) make it possible to deposit in a thin layer all metals, alloys and compounds available in sheet plate form, on metals, alloys, glass, ceramics, polymers, composites, etc. The applications of these techniques are very diverse: optical, electrical, thermal, anti-wear, friction, decoration, etc. The HEF Group has developed various treatments implementing these techniques and materials to meet the most diverse requirements:

VACUUM DEPOSITION FOR DECORATIVE USE

The TS™ CHROMIUM coating is produced by magnetron cathode spraying. It deposits on large parts special metal alloys or metals, producing decorative layers.

Characteristics:

• Chromium, stainless steel, gold, etc. appearance
• Large diversity of materials depositable: chromium, aluminium, gold, etc. or specific alloys to specifications
• Very great purity of coatings
• Control of thicknesses and of surface finishes
• Resistance to chemical attacks (according to filler materials)

Remarks:

Application on large parts.

Materials which can be treated:

Glasses - Plastics - Organic matrix composites - Ceramics - Cermets - Metals and alloys - Logos - etc.

Examples of application:

VACUUM DEPOSITION FOR CORROSION PROTECTION: CORRALU™ V

CORRALU™ V is a 10 to 50µm pure aluminium deposit giving the part treated electrical continuity and corrosion protection properties.

Characteristics:

• corrosion protection
• electrical continuity

Materials which can be treated:

Steels - Stainless steels - Aluminium alloys - Refractory alloys - Titaniums - Any metal compatible with vacuum deposition - Application possible on plastics, glasses and ceramics

Remarks:

Dimensions from 1 cm to 2 m. Over 2 m, contact us
Possibility of complementary treatment (SiOx, chemical conversion, Surtec 650, Corralu, varnish, cetyl alcohol)

Examples of application:

screws, nuts, bolts, etc. - Aeronautics - On-board electronic units - Sensor supports - Connector bodies - etc.

VACUUM DEPOSITION FOR OPTICAL USE

Coatings by magnetron cathode spraying of special metal alloys or metals, producing layers with reflective or semi-transparent properties, suited to the various ranges of wavelengths.

Characteristics

• Chromium, stainless steel, gold, etc. appearance
• Large diversity of materials depositable: chromium, aluminium, gold, etc. or specific alloys to specifications
• Very great purity of coatings
• Control of thicknesses and of surface finishes
• Resistance to chemical attacks (according to filler materials)

Remarks:

Application possible on large parts.

Materials which can be treated:

Glasses - Plastics - Organic matrix composites - Ceramics - Cermets - Metals and alloys - Logos - etc.

Examples of application:

 Visors - Screens - Bottles - Architecture
